American Poker Pro Shaun Deeb (40) experienced a unique poker drama at the World Series of Poker Europe in Prague. In two events, he made it to the heads-up, but what happened to the top star is probably unparalleled in WSOP history.

Deeb's unlucky double heads-up loss

At the €3,300 PLO Mixed Event, Deeb was in the final against German player Frank Koopmann. He was the clear favorite, having won eight gold bracelets, but he couldn't live up to that role. With a King-High Flush, he called Koopmann's all-in, only to be beaten by a Four of a Kind – a disaster he would experience again just four days later.

In the €565 Colossus Tournament, Deeb was on fire, making it to the heads-up against Frenchman Gilles Silbernagel, again the stronger player on paper. However, in poker, that doesn't always matter. On the board 6, 6, 6, 10 and Queen, Silbernagel pushed all his chips in the middle. Deeb had a Full House with the Queen, but had a bad feeling from the start. He hesitated, saying to himself:
